Leak Detection & Sewer Camera Inspection

Finding a hidden water leak or a failing sewer line shouldn’t mean tearing up your floors, yard, or driveway to guess where the problem is. PlumbingMasters has invested in two pieces of diagnostic equipment that let us locate problems precisely before any digging begins: the General Wire Gen-Ear LE™ water leak location system and a SeeSnake® sewer line camera with TruSense® technology. Since 1977, we’ve served South Williamsport, PA and the surrounding Lycoming and Clinton County communities, and these tools help us find the cause of the problem faster and with less disruption to your property.

Pinpointing Leaks and Inspecting Sewer Lines with Confidence

A. Water Leak Location

Our Gen-Ear LE™ water leak location system uses sensitive sound amplification to listen for the gurgling or hammering of water escaping from a damaged pipe, even when the line is buried or hidden from view.

If you’re seeing an unexplained spike in your water bill, damp spots, or the sound of running water when nothing is on, we can track down the source of the leak instead of opening up surfaces to search for it.

B. Where We Can Find Leaks

Is water escaping somewhere you can’t see?

The Gen-Ear LE™ lets us pinpoint leaks in residential and commercial water lines, including lines under concrete slabs and in walls, as well as swimming pools and hot tubs.

A ground sensor handles hard surfaces like concrete, asphalt, and tile, while probe rods are used on softer surfaces like grass or carpet. For exposed pipes and hydrants, we can use the probe rods or a magnet attachment.

C. Clear, Accurate Listening

The compact amplifier provides noise-free amplification with built-in preset audio filters, so settings aren’t a guessing game. High-performance, noise-canceling headphones block out ambient noise so our technician can focus on the sound of the leak.

For especially hard-to-find leaks, a Sound Amplification Manifold adds air to the line, which amplifies the leak sounds and makes them easier to locate.

D. Less Digging, Lower Cost

Locating a leak precisely means we only open up the area that needs repair.

That saves a lot of guesswork and unnecessary digging, which means less disruption to your property and lower repair costs for you.

Sewer Line Camera Inspection with Pitch Display

Our SeeSnake® sewer line camera with TruSense® is fed directly into your pipes, giving our technicians a real-time look at the condition of your line. In addition to a clear view of the pipe, it shows the pitch of the pipe, so we can see whether your line has the slope it needs to drain properly.
How it helps:
  • High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging delivers bright, clear detail in difficult lighting conditions inside the pipe
  • Rugged, high-intensity LEDs provide exceptional visibility
  • TiltSense™ displays the camera’s pitch in the pipe, helping identify sags, low spots, and improper slope
  • A long-range FleXmitter® sonde helps us track the camera’s location while preserving its ability to make turns
  • Provides a clear picture to guide repair, replacement, or maintenance decisions without unnecessary digging
